Koleje Śląskie will travel more often to Kraków and Pyrzowice

In the text on this subject posted on the website of the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship we read:
We have been talking about the connection from Częstochowa to Kraków, via Zagłębie Dąbrowskie, among local government officials for a long time and I am glad that it will finally be possible, because it is good news for our residents. The railway is changing, we are investing in modern rolling stock and infrastructure. We want travel with Koleje Śląskie to be comfortable, safe, we are expanding our network of connections and giving residents more and more interesting offers
– said Grzegorz Boski, Deputy Marshal of the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship, during a conference related to the timetable adjustment and the new offer of the regional carrier.
The event was also attended by: the mayor of Sosnowiec Arkadiusz Chęciński, the president of Koleje Śląskie Krzysztof Klimosz and councillors of the Provincial Assembly – Aldona Węgrzynowicz and Mirosław Mazur.
The new line from Częstochowa to Kraków will bypass Katowice but will connect the cities of Zagłębie and MałopolskaAccording to UMWŚ, Częstochowa–Kraków Płaszów connections will be available from August 31, 2025. From December, a fourth pair will be added to the regional carrier's timetable, which will run to Kraków Główny station.
The new connections will be routed around Katowice, which will help maintain traffic flow during the reconstruction of the Katowice railway junction.
Trains will run daily, and the travel time on the Częstochowa - Kraków Płaszów route will be approximately 1.5 hours. The train will stop at the following stations: Częstochowa Raków, Poraj, Myszków, Zawiercie, Łazy, Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice, Dąbrowa Górnicza Południowa, Sosnowiec Maczki, Jaworzno Szczakowa, Trzebinia, Krzeszowice, Zabierzów, Kraków Bronowice, Kraków Łobzów, Kraków Główny.
This is an important moment, because connections that were eliminated many years ago are returning to the schedule. At the same time, it is proof of good cooperation between local governments, without it there would be no modern infrastructure and such connections. I am glad that this train will stop at the Sosnowiec Maczki station. This is a neglected, historical facility, the revitalization of which we have been fighting for years and I believe that it will once again serve the residents of the city and the region.
– said the mayor of Sosnowiec, Arkadiusz Chęciński.
