State Department: Want to Come to the U.S.? Post $15,000 in Bail
As reported by the Associated Press, the State Department intends to launch a 12-month pilot program under which individuals from countries with the highest rates of overstaying their visas, as well as from countries that the U.S. deems inadequate in document security checks, would be required to pay a deposit of $5,000, $10,000, or even $15,000 (from 18,500 to 55,000 PLN) when applying for a U.S. visa. The project comes as the Trump administration tightens requirements for those applying for U.S. visas.
