Football. The chase is in total disarray...

The Port team deservedly lost heavily, as they played their worst match of the season, with a weak goalkeeper and a leaky defense, and Kamil Grosicki and Efthymis Koulouris, who were the team's main players last season and participated in almost all the actions that ended with goals, this time were shadows of the players from the spring, and only Musa Juwara can be praised for his participation in the attacks...

Before the match we watched a performance of the folk dance group "Szczecinianie", and after listening to the Pogoń anthem, on the occasion of Friday's Polish Army Day (the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, i.e. Our Lady of the Herbs and the anniversary of the Miracle on the Vistula and the defeat of Soviet troops near Warsaw), four verses of Mazurek Dąbrowskiego were sung (the first two were intoned by the above-mentioned "Szczecinianie", and the remaining verses were sung a cappella by the fans, with the scarf-singers from the mill being the best audible).
The match started unluckily for the navy blue and burgundy team even before the first whistle, as they lost the toss and had to play the first half under the sun (which had dropped after the break and no longer bothered Zabrze). The first minutes were dominated by the Górnik team, who were repeatedly taking corner kicks, and in the 12th minute Ismaheel shot dangerously from outside the penalty area, and a moment later Hellebrand shot from almost the same place. The Port team woke up only in the 24th minute after a dribble, Juwara fired an unsignaled shot from 18 meters and hit the post, and a moment later, after Borges' cross, Wahlqvist headed the crossbar. Then Pozo had a good opportunity, and in the next attack, when Szczecin, after pressing, took the ball away from their opponents, Juwara's shot was blocked for a corner. In the 27th minute, Huji cleared the ball from the goal line after a close-range header. Janicki. Moments later, the visiting goalkeeper, Łubik, rammed Ulvestad's jumper, and the Szczecin bench demanded a penalty, but after a short VAR break, the referee waved play on. In the 33rd minute, Juwara crossed to Koulouris, who, after receiving the ball and feinting, shot from close range, but the shot was blocked for a corner. Moments later, Juwara sent a powerful shot across the goal line, but none of his teammates capitalized on the opportunity, and that was the end of a short stretch of excellent play by Pogoń. Before the break, they squeezed Zabrze, first after a counterattack by Ambros, Huja blocked the ball, resulting in a corner. Then, Liseth shot from close range into the side netting from a tight angle, and finally, Ambros fired over the crossbar.
The second half began with a fine counterattack from the hosts, and Grosicki fired a pass from Juwara, but Łubik cleared the ball for a corner. In the 53rd minute, after a mistake by one of the Szczecin players, Sow found himself in a great position, but Przyborek caught up with him and cleared the ball, and in the next move, Sow shot just wide of the post. Then we saw Ambros shoot over the bar, and Ismaheel's shot was cleared by Huja for a corner. Górnik's pressure continued, and in the 59th minute, when Borges, under heavy attack, lost the ball, Ambros passed Liseth to give his team the lead with a close-range shot from near the post. The referee waited a moment longer for the VAR signal to check whether the Szczecin player had been fouled, but ultimately awarded the goal. After five minutes, coach Robert Kolendowicz made two changes, substituting the inactive Koulouris and Przyborek. Just moments later, Janża extended the lead with a 40-meter shot from just outside the touchline into the far corner, a mistake undoubtedly attributed to the goalkeeper. VAR was consulted briefly in this instance, but the goal was awarded. Three minutes later, after a counterattack, Sow found himself in a one-on-one situation and, past Cojocaru, slotted the ball into an empty net, securing the final score. After conceding three goals, the Szczecin scarf-wearing fans set off fireworks ("to party like crazy!" they sang, and it should be added that they also loudly saluted Wisła Kraków, their closest rival Widzew Łódź, and Elana Toruń, and hung a Dynamo Berlin banner on the fence). After a few minutes' break in play, the Port team struggled to find their footing despite further lineup changes, with their only chance for a consolation goal coming from Loncar's header, which resulted in a corner. Górnik had a chance to increase the lead, but Ismaheel's shot was saved, and Tsirigótis, after a nice move and a brilliant feint, passed the ball wide in a prime position.
After the match, there was a lot of booing in the stands, which many spectators had left during the match, and when the Szczecin team approached their most loyal fans to thank them for their support, they first heard an optimistic chant: "Whether you win or not, I still love you, because the best in Poland is Pogoń Szczecin MKS!", but then the scarf-wearing fans added in harsh military terms that the players from Twardowski must start playing!
The Pride of Pomerania players lost their third match this season (with one win and one draw), and the match organizers also made a mistake by installing a second board with advertising displayed. Half of the new board's ads were invisible, and half of the fence ads were obscured. At least that's how it looked from the press area...©℗

21 km more

Wisła Płock defeated Legia 1-0, and its players ran over 125 kilometers. That's 21 kilometers more than the Pogoń team ran in their loss to Górnik. The intensity is palpable.

What has Kesler done to Pogoń? Some third-division club. They had good players, but they got rid of them and brought in complete losers. Today was a complete disaster.

A change of coach and that's it...he's losing his authority...shame on him for playing like that. I believe in the president and...he'll get them to work, or rather...play...I don't know if I'll sleep tonight...

2nd team in the table, but from the bottom. That sounds better than saying 16th in the table. It's time for them to give up the Municipal Stadium and stop embarrassing the city of Szczecin with their pathetic performances.

Fans of many Polish clubs responded to a shameful banner by Jewish fans accusing Poles of murdering Jews since 1939. It was the other way around. It was Jews from the Soviet NKVD, with the help of Polish Jews, who shot tens of thousands of Poles after September 17, 1939. But for the Szczecin SKPS fans, the banner about fireworks was more important. Infantilism.

Things are starting to look bleak, especially with the match in Łódź next week and another blow. Grosik and Kulu are practically on their way out, as the former is no longer able to cope due to age, while the latter simply doesn't want to play for Pogoń anymore, and nothing will change that. After their departures, Pogoń practically ceased to exist, and only Juvara showed any pace and fight against the other, lethargic and resigned Port players.

And when the Persian Canadian gets bored of the fun, he'll flush the club down the toilet, we've been through this before...

The city doesn't give them enough money for promotion, take it from other clubs and give it more. Kolendowicz is making some good propaganda.

Even if they recover soon, at the end of the season it will turn out they were just a few points short of those two or three stupidly wasted matches to take first place in the table. There has never been, and never will be, a top-tier football champion in the Polish city of Szczecin. It's a shame about Grosicki... He's the only one who wants Pogoń to finally win the Champions League or the Polish Cup.

Górnik Zabrze has turned Pogoń Szczecin into a paprikash. And in Szczecin, at that.

I won't judge their potential or what anyone says—it's nonsense, anyway. In terms of playing style and current form, there are currently four candidates for relegation: Lechia, Pogoń, Motor, and Piast. And Pogoń has the best coach—the two best are chasing them, and they're out for fries. What a "professional."

Walkers

Again, Pogoń's play lacked intensity. They ran only 104 km. Under Runjaic, they ran at least 10 km more and there were more sprints. Walking could get you relegated from the Ekstraklasa. Pogoń can't play from the first touch, which is key to winning. I wonder who will be the next Pogoń coach?

This team won't recover with this lineup. Juwara, Pogoń's best and fastest player, was sidelined throughout the first half. He was helpless and begged for passes. He made two excellent saves himself: a shot against the post and a brilliant pass to Koulouris. Coach Kolendowicz probably already knows the countdown has begun. I'd give Coach Grzegorczyk a chance temporarily. He took over Arka a year ago and won 11 matches. Przyborek's disgrace. Everything is crumbling like a house of cards.
