American glamour in XXL version - how I spent one day in Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip is a fabulous theatre of neon lights, record-breaking weddings and luxury that never sleeps. If you are looking for a place that combines glitz, entertainment and extravagance – you have just found it.
There is always a line of people waiting to take a souvenir photo at the spectacular and iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada” sign. Designed by Betty Willis in 1959, this sign is such a classic start to a visit to Las Vegas and its most famous street, the Las Vegas Strip. It is a unique combination of entertainment, architecture, luxury and an atmosphere of constant celebration.

A walk of several hours can begin from the iconic sign. After only fifteen minutes, the first spectacular hotels appear, for example in the shape of a great pyramid. More replicas of famous buildings are springing up like mushrooms after the rain: the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Disneyland or the Eiffel Tower. Walking among the crowds of tourists on the over six-kilometer (one way) Las Vegas Boulevard, you can find yourself in Paris, Egypt, New York or Italy. These large buildings are nothing more than gigantic hotels at the same time, because the Las Vegas Strip is home to the most famous casinos and hotels , such as Bellagio, Caesars Palace, The Venetian or MGM Grand. Each of them surprises not only with its appearance or size, but also with the scope of what can be found inside. There are no shortcuts here.

For example, the MGM Grand hotel has over 6,800 rooms and is one of the largest in the world. It also has the largest casino in the world, which impresses with its size and variety of attractions. Roulette, poker and slot machines fill a large part of the hotel area. And it is worth playing, even for the experience.

The Las Vegas Strip offers many of them. Only here, in one of the many cool chapels, can you have a quick legendary wedding. Couples travel thousands of kilometers to say “I do” right away and without unnecessary questions, under the watchful eye of Elvis Presley or Marilyn Monroe . Equally famous people, such as Jon Bon Jovi. It turns out that there are many willing people, because in over fifty chapels about three hundred weddings are celebrated every day.

The Las Vegas Strip is most impressive in the evening. The crowds are still there, but the neon lights make it less overwhelming than during the day. This is best seen during the free and spectacular shows of the famous fountains in front of the Bellagio hotel. Because the famous Sin City's third name is entertainment. It is at the highest level in this city. From concerts by world stars to magical Cirque du Soleil shows, David Copperfield's show or new releases such as DISCOSHOW, a disco ride from the seventies that will keep no one away from the dance floor.

But the Las Vegas Strip is not everything. There is also Fremont Street , the historic heart of Las Vegas and a completely different, more authentic and atmospheric face of the city than the shiny Strip. Fremont Street is where the casino was born. Today, however, little remains of the atmosphere of the fifties and sixties. The old heart of Las Vegas is known primarily for its part called Fremont Street Experience - a covered promenade full of lights and neon. Every evening, spectacular light and music shows take place here. You can fly over Fremont Street on a zipline, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions.

A good ending to this spectacular trip around Las Vegas will be a ride on the High Roller, one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the world. It is almost 170 meters high. The city is visible as if in the palm of your hand. And there is no other place like Las Vegas - extravagance, diversity, a break from everyday life. It is simply worth trying.
