21-year-old dies in accident
According to the commander of the Santa Marta de Penaguião fire department, António Guedes, the accident resulted in one fatality and three injuries, who were taken to the Vila Real hospital.
The commander added that the fatal victim was the driver of the vehicle and was trapped, with death being declared at the scene by the VMER medical team.
The young man lived in Sanhoane, in the municipality of Santa Marta de Penaguião.
The alert was given at 6:30 am this Sunday, and several emergency services were on site, including firefighters from Santa Marta de Penaguião, Fontes and Peso da Régua.
