Chaves Sports Club could be bought by Celta Vigo

According to Bloomberg, which cites sources with knowledge of the matter, Celta de Vigo is considering moving forward with the purchase of the Portuguese team.
The club, which plays in the Spanish top flight and has the Mouriño family as its main shareholder, wants to acquire a team in northern Portugal, close to its hometown of Vigo. Among the options being considered is Grupo Desportivo de Chaves, which plays in the Portuguese second division, although they are evaluating other alternatives.
However, the process is still under review and there is no guarantee that the transaction will be completed, Bloomberg reported, citing sources with knowledge of the matter. A Celta Vigo spokesman said the club is looking at options but that no negotiations have been concluded. Francisco Carvalho, president of Grupo Desportivo de Chaves, told Bloomberg News that there are no negotiations with Celta Vigo.
If it goes ahead, this will be yet another deal between international investors and Portuguese teams, after the owner of Paris Saint-Germain acquired more than 20% of Sporting Clube de Braga and Brazilian player Vinicius Jr. bought a controlling stake in Alverca. Bloomberg highlights the fact that national clubs are cheaper than English or Spanish clubs, where broadcasting revenue is higher.
