Pope's health shows slight improvement

The health of Pope Francis, hospitalized with pneumonia in both lungs, improved slightly today, the Vatican announced at the end of the day, although the prognosis remains reserved.
"The Holy Father's clinical condition has shown a slight improvement in the last 24 hours," the Holy See said in its brief statement.
The 88-year-old Catholic leader "spent the afternoon working," according to the statement.
The Vatican clarified that “the slight renal insufficiency observed in recent days has disappeared”, noting the result of the examination carried out on Monday, which “demonstrated a normal evolution of the lung inflammation”.
The tests carried out today, especially blood tests, confirmed "the improvement observed" previously.
Francisco, however, continues to receive high-flow oxygen therapy and be treated with respiratory physiotherapy.
This morning, the Vatican had already indicated that "the Pope had a peaceful night" and was resting.
The hospitalization, the fourth and longest since the beginning of his pontificate in 2013, raises serious concerns as the Argentine pope was already weakened by a series of health problems in recent years, including colon and abdominal operations and difficulty walking.
