Portimão distributes 15 thousand euros in shopping vouchers to boost local commerce

Portimão City Council has just launched the "Comércio do Centro Portimão" campaign, an initiative to stimulate traditional commerce and focus on the circular economy to support local consumers and businesses. The campaign will run from July 7th to September 22nd, 2025, and will distribute €15,000 in shopping vouchers.

Promoted in partnership with the Algarve Region Commerce and Services Association ( ACRAL ), the Portimão Commerce and Services Association (APCS) and the Portimão Tourism Association (ATP), the campaign aims to reinforce the attractiveness of local commerce throughout the municipality, boosting summer shopping and encouraging customer loyalty.

This campaign also comes as part of the launch of the new "Comércio do Centro" brand, developed to highlight the identity and vitality of Portimão's traditional commercial fabric. Through this symbolic and concrete initiative, the brand is presented and celebrated among the local community and visitors.

Under the slogan "Earn by Shopping Locally," the initiative allows consumers to enter a draw for vouchers worth 25, 50, and 100 euros, to be used at participating establishments — shops, services, and restaurants — duly identified with the campaign's sign.

For every €10 spent, consumers receive one coupon (up to a limit of €20 per purchase). Coupons must be submitted, along with the original receipt and tax identification number, to the Portimão City Council One-Stop Shop (Rua do Comércio, 29/31) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The draws will take place on July 30th, August 27th, and September 24th, awarding €5,000 in vouchers per draw. Winning vouchers can be used until October 15th, 2025, for purchases of at least €10, with no right to change or refund.

Business owners in the retail, restaurant, and service sectors with establishments open to the public in the municipality of Portimão can join the campaign for free by filling out the registration form in person at the One-Stop Shop. They will immediately receive coupons to hand out to their customers.

Participating establishments undertake to accept the raffled vouchers as a form of payment and will be reimbursed upon delivery of the vouchers used and the purchase invoice.
