Second phase of the competition launched by Mobi.E will allow the installation of 40 more stations in 18 municipalities

The State company Mobi.E has launched a new international competition for the installation and operation of 40 charging stations for electric vehicles (80 points), located in 18 municipalities, which have shown interest in participating in the project called “Electric Streets”.
In this second phase, the budget is 540 thousand euros out of a total of 2.3 million euros that were not used up in the initial phase, an amount co-financed by the Environmental Fund.
The new competition was published in the Official Gazette, where it is stated that operators will be able to submit proposals until March 21st.
“The initiative aims to provide charging stations on streets in urban, residential or commercial areas, where buildings without their own parking are predominant, creating the necessary conditions for residents of these areas to be able to acquire electric vehicles”, says Mobi.E.
“It is also a way of raising awareness among municipalities about the central role they play in the transition to sustainable mobility, encouraging them to create procedures to reinforce the public charging network,” he adds.
Each station will have a power of 22 kW, with two simultaneous charging points, and should allow ad hoc charging, without a prior contract with an Electricity Supplier for Electric Mobility.
In Paços de Ferreira, four charging stations will be installed, in Mirandela and Ourém, three, and in the remaining municipalities – Borba, Carregal do Sal, Castanheira de Pera, Constância, Crato, Fundão, Marvão, Mora, Oleiros, São João da Pesqueira, Santa Cruz das Flores, Sertã, Sousel, Tábua and Trofa – two charging stations.
“The competition, published in the Official Gazette and the Official Journal of the European Union, establishes a deadline of 30 days for Charging Point Operators (OPC) to submit their proposals through the acinGov public procurement platform, that is, until March 21st. The stations are expected to start operating by the end of this year”, says Mobi.E.
It should be noted that the first phase of the project is in the implementation phase and foresees the installation of a total of 156 charging stations (312 points) in 62 municipalities. The lots, which went to tender last September, were awarded to EDP Comercial, Wowplug, Ecoinside, Mota-Engil Renewing, Galp and Wenea.
