Tesla vehicle sales in the EU fell 50.3% in January

The data indicates that Elon Musk's company sold 7,517 units in the first month of this year, compared to 15,130 vehicles in January 2024.
The drop in sales of the electric vehicle manufacturer coincided with a time when its owner, an advisor to US President Donald Trump, interfered in the internal politics of the European Union, supporting, among others, the German far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD).
This decline contrasts, however, with a 34% increase in the purchase of electric vehicles in the EU, up to 124,341 units, meaning that this type of vehicle represented 15% of the automotive market.
Overall, new vehicle registrations fell by an average of 2.6% in the EU market, with the largest declines recorded in France (-6.2%), Italy (-5.8%) and Germany (-2.8%).
The Spanish economy was the only one of the four main EU economies where new vehicle registrations increased (+5.3%).
