A reference in Italian cinema, Jacopo Quadri will come to São Paulo

Award-winning Italian film editor Jacopo Quadri will be coming to Brazil to participate in activities dedicated to the seventh art of Italy. Guest of honor at the 12th edition of the 8 ½ Festa do Cinema Italiano, which will take place between June 26 and July 2 in more than 20 cities in Brazil, he will be present on July 1, at 7 pm, at the Instituto Italiano de Cultura de São Paulo (IIC/SP), during the meeting "The art of making a film. Film editing with Jacopo Quadri".
Mediated by journalist and curator Flávia Guerra, the event at the IIC is part of the international Fare Cinema project. Admission is free and open to the public, but registration is required on the institute's website and is subject to availability.
Known for his collaboration with great names in Italian cinema, such as filmmakers Bernardo Bertolucci and Gianfranco Rosi, Quadri is one of the most influential voices in contemporary film editing and has just been awarded the David di Donatello for Best Editing for "Berlinguer - La Grande Ambizione", by Andrea Segre.
"The meeting [between Quadri and the Brazilian public] proposes a reflection on the essential role of the editor in the construction of the audiovisual narrative and their artistic and technical choices throughout the process", explains the IIC in a statement.
