Bernardo Lima closes the cycle of Art in Time

Arte no Tempo and the Aveiro/Santa Joana Museum conclude another season of musical sharing today with the last “What music do we listen to?” session of this Spring. In a year in which, contrary to what is usual, two thirds of the guests at the sessions come from the music industry, the name that closes the season is also that of a musician from the Aveiro region.
Bernardo Lima (1993) was born in Angeja, in the municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha, and completed his secondary education at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Aveiro. He continued his studies at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo in Porto, where he completed a degree in Composition and a master's degree in the same area. He later obtained a master's degree in Music Teaching from the University of Aveiro, which enabled him to teach Analysis and Composition Techniques.
Bernardo Lima has taught in several schools and in different geographies. He is currently a professor at the Music Conservatories of Águeda, Terras de Santa Maria and Aveiro. At the same time, he works as a composer, winning several composition awards, and is a prolific arranger, working with a wide range of names in national non-classical music.
He also studied conducting and has directed several projects in the area of contemporary music, mainly as assistant conductor of Banda Amizade. In this last session “What music do we listen to?”, José António Christo once again shows a piece from the Aveiro/Santa Joana Museum. Entry is free, and the session is open to the entire community and ends with tea in the museum’s cafeteria.
