Lula criticizes the price of gas cylinders and says that low-income population will have free gas

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Saturday (24) that “someone is making a lot of money with the price of a gas cylinder”, during an event in Campo Verde, in the interior of Mato Grosso. The PT member said that low-income families will have the benefit of free cooking gas.
“Petrobras sells gas cylinders to companies for R$37. There is no explanation for them to sell them to the people for R$120, R$130 and R$140. Someone is making a lot of money. We are going to make gas available at a low price. People who will be registered with CadÚnico will not even have to pay. Approximately 22 million families will benefit, because people need it. All of this will be announced this month,” said Lula.
The speech was made during the launch ceremony of the “Solo Vivo” program, which seeks to recover areas of degraded soil and strengthen family farming. This is yet another attempt by the PT member to get closer to agribusiness.
In February, the president had already promised free gas to 22 million families, which did not happen. “We are discussing a project that is almost ready to deliver free gas to 22 million families in this country. For us, gas is part of the basic food basket,” he said at the time.
Lula says he will travel the country to “fight fake news”At the same event, Lula also stated that, starting in June, he will travel around Brazil to “assume the responsibility of not allowing lies, villainy, and fake news to gain ground and for the truth to be buried in this country.”
Still on the subject of fake news, Lula said he was born into a family where lies were not tolerated. “We are part of that type of politician who at least does not want to lose the right to walk down the street with our heads held high. I was raised by an illiterate mother, and the thing she demanded most of us was that we not lie and that we respect others,” said the president.
