The main European markets ended the day recording gains, with the IBEX35 gaining 0.73% to 13,845.10 points and the CAC40 rising 0.48% to 7,589.66 points.
Millennium Investment Banking market analyst Ramiro Loureiro states that “ European stock markets closed higher on a day with a high volume of transactions, justified by the fact that today is Triple Witching Day , the day when futures contracts for options on stocks and indices are rebalanced. According to market reports, today’s event is expected to move a record $6.5 trillion (a value in American terms, equivalent to billions on a European scale). Donald Trump’s statement yesterday, which postponed the decision on a possible attack on Iran for two weeks, ended up encouraging investors.”
“In Portugal, BCP took advantage of the good banking environment and led the gains in the PSI”, he says.
In the oil market, Texan WTI increased by 0.22%, setting the price per barrel at $73.67, while Brent lost 2.60% to $76.79. Natural gas fell by 2.56% to $3.891.
In the foreign exchange market, the euro appreciated 0.21% against the dollar, settling at 1.1521 dollars.
