MP asks Montenegro and Pedro Nuno for more information

The Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) requested additional information from Luís Montenegro, within the scope of the preventive investigation related to the company Spinumviva, and is still awaiting the sending of these documents, the Attorney General's Office (PGR) reported this Tuesday, clarifying that more information was also requested from Pedro Nuno Santos about the purchase of his house.
In a written response sent to Lusa this Tuesday, the PGR clarified that “additional elements were requested” in relation to the two preventive investigations underway — one related to the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, and the company Spinumviva, and another related to the Secretary General of the PS, Pedro Nuno Santos, and the acquisition of a property in Lisbon.
“Preventive investigations are ongoing, awaiting the Public Prosecutor's Office's response to these requests,” added the PGR. The two preventive investigations are being carried out by the Central Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DCIAP).
This Monday, the Attorney General spoke to Lusa about the preventive investigation into Pedro Nuno Santos, without giving details about the preventive investigation involving Luís Montenegro, which was announced at the beginning of March this year.
At that time, Amadeu Guerra explained that three complaints related to the Prime Minister's family company had been received and that the objective of the preventive investigation would be to assess whether there were elements to proceed with opening an investigation and that it would be based on information obtained from open sources and documents requested from those involved.
The case related to Spinumviva led the Government to present a motion of confidence, which was rejected in the Assembly of the Republic, and led to early elections that took place this Sunday.
Regarding the secretary general of the Socialist Party, whose preventive investigation was opened more than a month ago, the Attorney General of the Republic also said this Monday that the issue will be “analyzed once again next week, possibly this week”.
