Botafogo x Internacional: where to watch, lineups and refereeing

Botafogo and Internacional will face off against two giants who are going through difficult times this season, this Sunday (11), for round 8 of the Brazilian Championship. The ball starts rolling at 8 pm (Brasília time), at the Nilton Santos Stadium, in Rio de Janeiro. Colorado has nine points, just one ahead of Mais Tradicional. Both teams need a victory to, at the very least, get close to the G6 and leave the middle of the table.

How does Botafogo arrive?

Glorioso is going through dark times. The fans have very little patience with coach Renato Paiva and, if possible, they wouldn't like to see him painted gold at the Colosso do Subúrbio. Furthermore, the witch is loose. The Portuguese coach can't count on Bastos (defender), Barboza (defender), Savarino (attacking midfielder), Martins (striker) and Mastriani (center forward). All are injured. Attacking midfielder Santi, in the final stages of recovery, could be the big news, but the Uruguayan is unlikely to start among the starters.

With few options and nowhere to run, Paiva should make few changes to the team that beat Carabobo, on Tuesday (6), 2-1, away from home, for the Copa Libertadores. Cuiabano, who is asking for a pass, can play either on the left side or on the wing, forward, something, by the way, that has not yet been decided.

How does Internacional arrive?

Things are not going so well on the banks of the Guaíba River either. After winning the Gauchão, Inter has always played very irregularly, alternating between good and poor performances under coach Roger Machado. On Thursday (8), for example, Colorado lost to Nacional-COL by 3 to 1 and got into trouble in the Copa Libertadores. Just like Paiva, the coach of the team from Rio Grande do Sul is facing many questions.

Valencia is yet another injured player to add to Roger's drama. In addition to the Ecuadorian, Inter have Borré (center forward), Carbonero (attacking midfielder), Vitinho (striker), Rochet (goalkeeper), Drummond (center forward), Gomes (right back) and Mercado (defender) in the medical department. Therefore, Colorado will have to resort to young players.
