Coach Dorival Júnior prioritized the South American competition and, therefore, selected a team considered mixed against Atlético-MG , at Arena MRV, this Saturday (24). However, with a good defensive performance — especially from goalkeeper Hugo Souza —, Timão will return from Belo Horizonte with a draw.

Midfielder Carrillo assessed that the draw was not at all bad for Corinthians . The result leaves Alvinegro with 14 points, occupying eighth place after 10 rounds played.

"We came here looking for three points, we knew it would be a very tough game. But a draw isn't bad either. We had a very good first half, we created some great chances, but we weren't able to convert them. It's also important not to concede any goals," said the Peruvian at the end of the match at the MRV Arena.

Now, Corinthians will change gears and face Huracán next Tuesday (27), in Argentina. The game will be valid for the last round of the South American, and the São Paulo team is looking to confirm second place in the group and qualification for the playoffs. At the moment, Timão has eight points, against seven for América de Cali, in third place.
