From forgotten in Brazil to king in Thailand: former Athletico explodes into Asian football

Former Athletico player, striker Guilherme Bissoli is the main sensation in Thai football. The player closed the 2024/2025 season with impressive numbers for Buriram United.
He scored 42 goals and provided nine assists in 58 matches for the club. The 27-year-old was also the top scorer in the Thai League, with 26 goals. This was the Brazilian's second season in Thailand.

In his first year in the country, Bissoli had already achieved important numbers. He scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 15 matches played.
Discovered by São Paulo, the striker had two spells at Athletico. In the first, in 2020, the player scored nine goals and provided two assists in 31 games. Bissoli was one of the top scorers in the Campeonato Paranaense that year.
The following year, he was loaned to Cruzeiro. However, he did not have much space at Raposa and returned to Athletico. For Furacão, in 2021, he scored seven goals in 28 matches.
In the 2022 season, Bissoli played only six matches for Athletico and ended up being loaned to Avaí, where he shone. He scored 14 goals in 32 games.
After his contract with Furacão was not renewed, Bissoli was acquired by Ceará. In 17 matches for Vozão, the striker scored only three goals. Since 2024 he has been part of the Buriram United squad, winning six titles with the club.
