Guadiana Cup brings together more than 4,000 young footballers in VRSA

With the participation of more than 4,000 young athletes, the Guadiana Cup was distributed among a total of 256 teams, which will compete in the categories of 11-a-side football, 9-a-side football, 7-a-side football and 5-a-side football.
The competition is structured in three distinct phases:
From June 21st to 24th: the following categories take to the field: Juveniles B, Iniciados B, Infantiles A (11-a-side football) and Infantiles A (9-a-side football); From June 24th to 27th: it's the turn of the Infantis B and Benjamins A categories (7-a-side football);
From June 28th to 30th: the Iniciados A, Benjamins B, Traquinas A and Traquinas B categories will play games in the 11, 7 and 5 football variants.
The trophies will be awarded in phases, on June 24th and 27th, and on June 30th, after the conclusion of the games in each phase.
The official ceremonies will take place on the 24th (Tuesday) and 27th (Friday) of June, with the traditional parade of teams, at 9 pm, at the Vila Real de Santo António Sports Complex.
During the tournament, the teams will be transported by the ACG Bus line, which will ensure the connection between the different fields: the Vila Real de Santo António Sports Complex, the Monte Gordo Sports Complex and the Francisco Gomes Socorro Field.
The Guadiana Cup is an international youth football tournament aimed at young people between the ages of seven and 16, promoting the practice of sport in an environment of conviviality and fair play , with a special focus on the personal development of participants.
Vila Real de Santo António City Council has been a partner in this event – since its first edition – which contributes to boosting sporting activity in the municipality, especially among younger people.
