The Portuguese women's basketball coach, Ricardo Vasconcelos, excluded from the final call-up for Eurobasket 2025, which takes place in four countries, Simone Costa (Girolive Panthers Osnabruck), Raquel Laneiro (CB Arxil) and Inês Ramos from Aveiro (Esgueira), despite the point guard/winger having had a great season at the Esgueira club and having had several positive performances in the opportunities she had in the preparation stage for the competition.

Regarding the list of 16 announced on May 13, the Portuguese coach had already seen Maria Kostourkova, from Polish side Zaglebie Sosnowiec, leave due to injury.

In this way, the 12 players have been chosen (the group includes Joana Soeiro, from Gafanha da Nazaré, and Inês Viana, from São João da Madeira), who will be in Portugal's debut in the final phase of the women's Eurobasket, which will take place between the 18th and 29th of this month, in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Greece.

The Portuguese national team will travel tomorrow to Brno, in the Czech Republic, where they will play the first phase, as part of Group C, against Belgium, Montenegro and the Czech Republic.

Portugal will make its debut against the Belgians on Thursday (19 June), facing the host team the following day (20) and Montenegro next Sunday (22).
