Internacional: Roger Machado plans restructuring and bets on the youth team

Internacional has begun a process of restructuring its roster. The Colorado board, together with the technical committee led by Roger Machado, has defined a plan that involves the departure of players, the integration of young players from the youth teams and the search for financial relief. The intention is to prepare the team for the rest of the season and improve its performance in the Brazilian Championship.

So far, five players have already confirmed their departure. Uruguayan defender Agustín Rogel will return to Hertha Berlin in Germany after losing his place during the year. Right-back Nathan, in turn, will return to Santos, ending his loan contract with Internacional. Both cases were already expected, since the club chose not to exercise the purchase options.

Another transfer that has been confirmed involves attacking midfielder Gabriel Carvalho. The player, who has no place under Roger Machado, will be transferred to Al Quadisiya, from Saudi Arabia. The negotiation is scheduled for August 17, when the athlete will turn 18, the minimum age required for an international transfer, according to FIFA rules.

Defender Kaique Rocha is also close to leaving the club. With few opportunities throughout 2025, the defender and his staff are looking for a new team to continue his career. In fact, this will be another departure that fits the profile of squad reduction that the board has been adopting.

In addition to the aforementioned losses, Internacional is considering a possible sale with a financial impact. Names such as Ricardo Mathias and Gustavo Prado have been attracting interest from clubs abroad. Vitão and Wesley, who are equally valued, are also on the list of athletes who could yield significant amounts. The board's goal is to raise more than R$120 million in negotiations to reach the annual budget.

While the departures are being planned, the club is also looking at young talents trained in the youth teams. Players from the under-20 group should be integrated into the professional squad in the coming months.
