Miriam Julião is crowned regional under/18 champion

Miriam Julião was crowned regional under/18 female champion of the North, after the fifth and final stage of the Northern Surf Circuit, which took place last weekend on Leça da Palmeira beach, in Matosinhos (Porto), where the champions of the under/12, under/16 and under/18 categories were also crowned. The young woman from the Vagos Surfers Association finished the stage in second place in her category, totaling 2,720 points, after winning at Vagueira beach in the first stage and coming second in Espinho, in the second of three events on the circuit, winning the regional title for the North and guaranteeing her presence in the grand final of the National Women's Hopeful Surfing Championship, which will take place in October, in Porto. Those who also stood out in the Northern Regional Surf Circuit were Sebastião Neves and Guilherme Caetano, surfers from the Aveiro Surf Association, who also secured qualification for the national competition of hopes, which still has no scheduled locations or dates. Sebastião Neves, with second places in Ílhavo and Viana do Castelo and victory in Vagueira, was crowned regional runner-up in the under-16 category, while Guilherme, who came seventh (Ílhavo), third (Espinho) and second (Porto), was third in the final.
