Samir Xaud raises his voice to complain about the match against Bolivia: 'A real mess'

Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president Samir Xaud unleashed a heated tirade after Brazil's loss to Bolivia in the final round of World Cup qualifying. He railed against anti-football behavior, the refereeing, and even the police on duty at the match in El Alto.

Xaud promised to take the report to CONMEBOL, demanding accountability. According to him, brutal police actions against the Brazilian delegation were recorded. "What happened here today is sad. We came to play soccer, and what we saw was anti-football. Even at this altitude of 4,000 meters, we played against the referee, against the police, against the ball boys, taking the balls off the field, putting the balls on the field," he said in the mixed zone of the El Alto Municipal Stadium.

"A real mess today. It's something we don't expect for world football or South American football," he added.

After the loss to Bolivia, Brazil finished the qualifiers with the worst performance under the current format. The next FIFA date will be a series of friendlies for the Brazilian national team. On October 10th, Carlo Ancelotti's team faces South Korea in Seoul. Then, on the 14th, the opponent will be Japan in Tokyo.

Bolivia finished seventh in the South American Qualifiers and will have to compete in the playoffs to advance to the World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. Six teams will be competing for two World Cup spots, but besides the Bolivian/Venezuelan national team, the only confirmed participant is New Caledonia, representing Oceania.
