A criminal case for violating traffic rules has been opened after an accident in which two people died, including a 12-year-old child on a motorcycle that ran over people in Primorye, and two more were injured, the region's supervisory agency reports. Earlier, the Primorye police reported that on Saturday night, a 12-year-old boy on a Suzuki RMX250 motorcycle ran over pedestrians who were walking along the road in the Primorsky village of Novodevitsa, the underage driver and the man died at the scene of the accident, and two more people, including a 15-year-old girl passenger, were hospitalized. The minors on the motorcycle were not wearing protective gear, the vehicle was taken without permission, and an investigation is underway into the accident. A RIA Novosti source reported that the girl had multiple abrasions and a head injury, and the man received serious injuries and is in serious condition. According to the regional prosecutor's office, a brother and sister were riding the motorcycle. "The prosecutor's office has recognized the initiation of a criminal case under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles, which resulted in the death of two or more persons through negligence) as legal. The progress and results of its investigation have been placed under control," the report says. The supervisory agency will evaluate the activities of the bodies of the system for the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency, the prosecutor's office reports.
