In Kuban, wine production increased by 2.5% in 2024

In 2024, the wine industry of the Krasnodar Territory showed growth, reaching 23.4 million decalitres of production. This is 2.5% more than the year before. This was reported to TASS by the Ministry of Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Krasnodar Territory.
It is noted that in 2025, it is planned to focus on petnats and orange wines, which are currently gaining increasing popularity.
Petnats are sparkling wines created using a unique technology, two centuries older than the traditional method of producing champagne. They are considered the predecessors of modern sparkling wines, and the production process itself is called the "old Cossack method", implying fermentation directly in the bottle. In addition, the ministry noted that the production of such wines is several times cheaper due to the method of preparation.
In 2025, it is planned to plant young vineyards in Kuban on an area of at least 1.6 thousand hectares.
Earlier, MK na Kubani wrote that the region plans to increase wine production by 10-30% in 2025.
