Penza Region is ready for September 1: 100% of educational institutions have passed the inspection

The issue of the regional educational network's readiness for the new school year was considered at a meeting of the Penza Region government chaired by Governor Oleg Melnichenko. As reported by the region's Minister of Education Alexey Fomin, from June 16 to August 15, the interdepartmental commission inspected 627 organizations, including schools, kindergartens, secondary vocational education institutions and additional education institutions. All of them were found to be fully compliant with the requirements.
It was noted that several objects in the villages of Studenki, Pless, Norovka, in Nizhny Lomov and Pachelma, as well as a kindergarten in Issa, where repair work is currently ongoing, were not submitted for assessment. This year, major repairs were carried out in 32 educational institutions of the region.
The governor was informed that on September 1, more than 132 thousand children will sit at their desks, of which almost 12 thousand are first-graders. All students are provided with free textbooks, and schools have 100% access to the Internet. More than 7.5 thousand children will be transported by a fleet of 340 school buses that meet all safety requirements. In 2025, 25 new buses have already arrived in the region, and another 13 vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of the year.
Particular attention at the meeting was paid to preparations for the upcoming academic years. Governor Oleg Melnichenko instructed to begin in advance the formation of teaching staff for new schools in the 7th microdistrict of Arbekovo and the residential complex "Lugometriya", which are planned to be put into operation by September 1, 2026.
The head of the Penza education department, Yuri Kalenov, reported that the personnel planning process has already begun. In the near future, a candidate for the head of the school will be proposed to Lugometry, and from September, monitoring of the contingent of students from nearby areas will be conducted. To resolve the personnel issue, it is planned to attract senior students of the Penza Pedagogical Institute through the mechanism of pedagogical practice with subsequent employment. The governor supported this decision, noting the importance of practical training of future teachers.
