Novgorod region has taken root in the TOP of 25 regions of the country, where the high quality of education is noted. Such information was announced the day before at the extended board of the relevant ministry "Development of the education system of Novgorod region: strategic directions, priorities and mechanisms". As Dmitry Yakovlev, the Minister of Education of Novgorod region, noted in his report, the key strategic priority for the region continues to be improving educational results. Which brings its fruits. For example, the average scores for the Unified State Exam of graduates of Novgorod schools are higher than the Russian average in such subjects as physics, history, Russian and English languages, geography, social studies.

Dmitry Yakovlev also emphasized in his report to the board that the Novgorod Region was among the top three regions in the implementation of the national project "Education". Let us recall that in 2025, a cycle of new national projects "Youth and Children" and "Family" was launched. Our region is a participant in such events as "All the Best for Children", "Leading Schools", "Professionalism", "Creation of a Network of Modern Campuses".

Acting Governor Alexander Dronov noted that the region’s education team works harmoniously and professionally, achieving high results.

"We continue our comprehensive work on developing modern infrastructure of educational institutions. By the end of this year, there will be 56 renovated school buildings in the region - our result of participation in the program since 2022. And this is more than 20 thousand children who will study in modern conditions. Subsequently, we plan to bring all school buildings requiring repair to a standard condition," said Alexander DRONOV.

He also noted that in recent years the region has been doing a lot to support teachers and raise the prestige of the teaching profession, and there are no plans to stop there. Thus, the acting governor proposed expanding the list of professional skills competitions with another one - "Novgorod Teacher".

“Participation in it will allow our teachers to demonstrate their professional achievements, receive recognition and financial support,” Alexander Dronov is confident.

As for the current important tasks on the eve of the new school year, the textbook fund is being updated in schools in Veliky Novgorod and the districts in accordance with the federal list. This year, new history textbooks for grades 5-7 were purchased - 37,357 copies. The update of the fund became possible thanks to the support of the Novgorod Region Government and the Novgorod Regional Duma.
