Servicemen of the Dnepr group destroyed a Ukrainian UAV point using a D-30 howitzer

MOSCOW, May 17. /TASS/. A 122-mm howitzer D-30 crew of the Dnepr group of forces destroyed an enemy UAV control point on the right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"An operator of the aerial reconnaissance unit identified the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, from where [Ukrainian] nationalists repeatedly launched drones of various types. The coordinates of the Ukrainian militants' location were promptly transmitted to the crew's position. Russian servicemen received the command to carry out combat operations, unmasked the howitzer, and aimed the gun at the specified coordinates. One sighting shell, and then the second and third, hit the target precisely, destroying the enemy UAV control center, which was located in an abandoned house," the report says.
They specified that after completing the combat work, the artillerymen camouflaged the gun and quickly left the firing position, taking cover in previously prepared defensive structures.
The senior officer of the battery with the call sign Penza said that the crew does not give the enemy a break, the strikes are carried out constantly. "Right now the target is mainly the sheltered infantry, which is based in a village on the other side of the Dnieper. There are boats on which the enemy is trying to swim to our side. Also wheeled, tracked vehicles. All kinds of targets absolutely. It does not matter to us, the main thing is that they are within the range of our weapons," he said.
