Kazakhstani Evgeniy KOSHKIN won a gold medal at the World Cup stage in speed skating in Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland.
Our speedster won the 500-meter race. His time was 34.52 seconds. Second place went to Laurent DUBREL from Canada - 34.70. The bronze medal went to Marek KANIA from Poland - 34.76.
It should be noted that Koshkin came in second in the 100-meter race at the recent 2025 Asian Games in Harbin.
The women's team of Kazakhstan, consisting of Nadezhda MOROZOVA, Kristina SILAEVA and Darya VAZHENINA, finished fifth in the team sprint in Poland, but took third place in the overall standings based on the results of three stages of the World Cup. The Polish team came in first. The Canadians won silver.
