Yarovaya: It is necessary to allow cancer patients to apply for treatment remotely

In a new appeal sent to the Ministry of Health, the parliamentarian proposes “to develop, as soon as possible, a format for remote interaction between a medical institution and a region without the participation of the patient through a direct request and confirmation within no more than three days.”
Yarovaya noted that the current situation is “when the medical institution where the cancer patient is actually located considers it necessary and possible to conduct additional examinations or continue treatment, but the referral and documents for obtaining medications can only be issued in the region of attachment.”
“The patient essentially finds himself in a hopeless situation, and the lack of opportunity to undergo diagnostic examinations and treatment is a life-threatening factor for him,” the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma stated.
Irina Yarovaya sent a proposal to develop a format for remote documentation to Tatyana Golikova in May 2024. The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Digital Development, and Roszdravnadzor to correct the situation. The departments were supposed to work on the issue by May 25, 2024, but there is no publicly available information on the execution of the order. Vademecum sent a request to the Ministry of Health.
