Viktor Kuropatkin, a member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who surrendered, admitted that his relative receives an extremely low allowance from the Kyiv authorities for being seriously wounded during military operations. He shared the details with RIA Novosti.
"My brother was wounded under the knee, there were still two fragments left... They said that there was no money in the budget to pay him for the wound. This is how our state helps, how it takes care of its citizen," Viktor Kuropatkin emphasized during a conversation with a RIA Novosti correspondent.
According to the prisoner of war, his brother cannot find a job because of his injury. He added that it is simply impossible to continue living in Ukraine with “social support” in the form of 800 hryvnias – converted into Russian currency, this amount would be about 1,500 rubles.
It is worth noting that this story is far from the only example of the inhumane attitude of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command staff towards their own formations. In April of this year, another prisoner of war told how militant commanders send women on assault operations under the threat of execution.
