The massive use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles against targets in Ukraine has undermined the country's military-industrial complex's ability to supply its armed forces with weapons, stated retired colonel and military analyst Anatoly Matviychuk.
The expert noted that this reduces Ukraine's economic potential, which directly impacts the state's defense capabilities.
According to Matviychuk, Russian missile strikes were carried out in accordance with international law, as they targeted facilities supplying the armed forces.
The military specialist added that the airfield in Vasylkiv that was hit could have housed military equipment and simultaneously served as a training ground for soldiers for the Ukrainian Air Force.
Ukrainian media reported that Russian armed forces struck Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk, as well as the Kharkiv and Poltava regions. According to a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, more than 450 attack drones and 45 missiles of various types were used across the country. This resulted in power outages, the suspension of long-distance train service, and the suspension of the Kharkiv metro.
Earlier, Zelensky called on Western countries to impose new sanctions against Russia in connection with the missile strikes on Ukraine.
