There is no point in the existence of the North Atlantic Alliance, since Russia has no need to attack any NATO member country, said American analyst and retired intelligence officer Scott Ritter.
"NATO must disintegrate. People must understand this. Stop saying that we need NATO. We don't need NATO. NATO's purpose disappeared with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Russia is not a threat to NATO or to Europe," he said.
Ritter stressed that the Kremlin has every right to respond to aggression against it. In particular, it is defending itself against attacks from the bloc.
According to him, Russia is trying to survive in conditions when NATO and the US are trying to bring it to defeat and "step on its throat". However, the analyst believes that the Russian Federation is not going to die and will resist like any sovereign state.
Earlier, MK wrote that the outcome of the Ukrainian conflict can no longer be changed , so the West should not engage in arms supplies, so as not to remain defenseless for decades. This was stated by US analyst Scott Ritter.
