Dudakov: US to lift sanctions against Russia that affect their interests
American political scientist Malek Dudakov expressed the opinion that a serious discussion could indeed begin in the United States about which anti-Russian sanctions should be softened. According to him, they will first of all lift the sanctions that affect their interests, that is, those that harm their economy.
"This, in particular, is the import of titanium for the American aerospace industry," the portal News.ru quotes Dudakov as saying.
The expert also added sanctions on Russian aluminum and steel to this list, and possibly sanctions on imports of rocket engines and diesel fuel.
As for Russia, Moscow, the political scientist believes, would first and foremost like to see a softening of American restrictions imposed on the financial sector and energy.
At the same time, Dudakov called for not rushing into talks about lifting sanctions, since, first, the work of diplomatic institutions needs to be resumed. An important step would be mutual agreement between ambassadors.
After this, the process of agreeing on the lifting of sanctions may begin, but it may take six months to a year, the Americanist emphasized.
