Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized the European Union's decision to restrict the issuance of multiple-entry Schengen visas to Russian citizens. She believes this step is illogical given the EU's significant financial obligations related to the maintenance of illegal migrants and support for Ukraine.
Speaking on the "Right to Know" program on the TVC channel, Zakharova emphasized that European taxpayers are already bearing a significant cost burden.
In such a situation, according to the diplomat, losing income from Russian tourists who visit Schengen countries legally and with sufficient financial means is tantamount to "driving Europe to suicide" from an economic perspective.
Earlier, the Federation Council reported on the catastrophic rise in rapes by migrants in Europe.
