A judoka from the Arkhangelsk region became the best in the Northwestern Federal District.

The Northwestern Federal District Junior Judo Championships were held in Velikiye Luki (Pskov Oblast), according to the regional Ministry of Sport.

The Arkhangelsk region was represented by athletes from the Pomorye Sports School , Artem Artemov and Varvara Koksharova , students of Honored Coach of Russia Alexander Novikov.

In the 52 kg weight class, Varvara Koksharova competed confidently in three bouts and won the gold medal. The victory earned her a spot in the Russian Championship Finals, which will be held in Krasnodar from November 13 to 16.

Artem Artemov took seventh place in the 66 kg weight class.
