Avtomobilist Hockey Club played an away game at Neftekhim Arena in Nizhnekamsk, the club's press service reported. The Ural team's opponents were players from the Neftekhimik team.

The match ended in a defeat for Avtomobilist. The final score was 5-2 in favor of Neftekhimik.

Yekaterinburg scored both of their goals in the third period, by Jesse Blacker and Maxim Denezhkin. Nizhnekamsk's Evgeny Mityakin (two goals), Luka Profaca (two goals), and Damir Zhafyarov also scored.

Avtomobilist and Neftekhimik have met 56 times in the KHL. The Yekaterinburg team has won 30 of these matches in regulation time, three in overtime, and four in shootouts.

Avtomobilist will play its next match away against Lokomotiv in Yaroslavl on September 26.

As MK-Ural previously reported, on September 21, Avtomobilist lost to Neftekhimik in the final of the KHL regular season home series. The game ended with a 4-1 victory for the Nizhnekamsk team .

The first period ended goalless. In the second 20 minutes, each team scored one goal. In the third period, Neftekhimik capitalized on two power plays. In the final minutes, Avtomobilist pulled its goalie and allowed another goal—into an empty net.
