Buryat boxer Anatoly Balchugov won bronze at the Russian Championship among boys aged 13–14. This was reported by the republic's Ministry of Sports. The competition was held from June 22 to July 2 in Syktyvkar (Komi Republic).

The athlete had four fights at the tournament. In the preliminary matches, he confidently defeated opponents from the Penza and Pskov regions. In the quarterfinals, Balchugov won an early victory over a representative of the Moscow region.

In the semi-final, the Buryat boxer met a strong opponent from North Ossetia. Following the fight, Anatoly won a bronze medal and became part of the Russian national team.
