In Ivanovo, the Children's Cultural and Leisure Center will take care of the health of young athletes

Since June 1, the KDC has begun in-depth medical examinations of young athletes - members of the regional youth teams. Governor Stanislav Voskresensky saw how this work is organized at the Children's Consultative and Diagnostic Center on Thursday, May 15. He discussed new opportunities for providing a popular service to a wider category of athletes with the management of the medical institution.

Governor of Ivanovo Region Stanislav Voskresensky spoke about the transformation of children's healthcare, including the creation of the Children's Consultative and Diagnostic Center, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"All children's and youth teams will be able to undergo medical examinations at the consultative and diagnostic center in Ivanovo from June 1 this year. We have actually opened not a sports medicine office, but a whole complex," Stanislav Voskresensky said.

Let us recall that previously this popular service was provided only to young athletes studying in sports schools, upon requests from the institutions. "Now, starting June 1, the regional teams will come to us. That is, these can be children who study not only in sports schools, but also in other institutions, but at the same time are part of the team and defend the honor of the Ivanovo region," clarified Marina Salova, Deputy Chief Physician of City Clinical Hospital No. 4.

Stanislav Voskresensky looked at how the work on in-depth medical examination is organized. For young athletes, functional tests are carried out on special equipment, a sports anamnesis is collected, a cardiogram is made, an echocardiogram of the heart, spirometry, blood pressure measurement is carried out, other types of examination are carried out, and examinations by doctors of narrow specialties are carried out. The final conclusion is given by a pediatric cardiologist, pediatrician and sports medicine doctor. Previously, young athletes had to receive all these services in different areas of the city. "Now everything is here in one building. A team of doctors works to examine athletes," explained Anton Arsenyev, Director of the Health Department of the Ivanovo Region.

It should be noted that the service for organizing an in-depth medical examination at the Children's Consultative and Diagnostic Center in Ivanovo began to be provided in November last year. In 2024, 250 people were examined, and in almost six months, 1.1 thousand athletes underwent an in-depth medical examination at the KDC.

Successful completion of the medical examination serves as the basis for admission to the chosen sport and competitions at various levels, and in the future will allow for adjustments to the training process.

The Children's Consultative and Diagnostic Center in Ivanovo was opened under the project "Let's Decide Together". Since the start of work in the new conditions, over 40 thousand consultations have already been conducted here for young patients from all over the Ivanovo Region.
