St. Petersburg native and former Lokomotiv player Tiknizyan received Serbian citizenship.

Footballer Nair Tiknizyan was born on May 12, 1999, in St. Petersburg. He received Serbian citizenship on September 18, according to a decree issued by Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Matsuta.

Tiknizyan's transfer to Red Star Belgrade from Lokomotiv cost €1.7 million. He scored 16 goals in 122 matches for the Russian team.

MK in St. Petersburg previously reported that the State Duma condemned athletes who change their Russian citizenship.
