61 suspects arrested in cybercrime operations

In a post on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated that the operations were carried out by provincial gendarmerie commands under the coordination of the chief public prosecutor's office and the Gendarmerie Anti-Cybercrime Department.
Yerlikaya stated that 61 suspects with a transaction volume of 200 million lira in their accounts were caught within the scope of operations conducted by gendarmerie teams in 9 provinces, 27 of them were arrested, judicial control provisions were applied to 17 of them and the procedures for the others are continuing, and noted the following:
The suspects apprehended in operations centered in Erzurum, Ankara, Van, Şanlıurfa, Ordu, Kahramanmaraş, Sinop, Ağrı, and Giresun were found to have defrauded our citizens with advertisements such as "gift certificates and furniture sales" on social media and fake websites. They obtained our citizens' personal information using illegal online query panels. They also accessed our citizens' social media accounts to spread terrorist propaganda. Our prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into them. We continue to fight resolutely in our Cyber Homeland against criminal networks that conduct aggravated fraud through information systems and social media. I congratulate those who contributed.
Yerlikaya also included images of the operations in his post.
