ENAG announced June inflation: Annual increase 68.68 percent

The Independent Inflation Research Group ( ENAG ) shared the Consumer Price Index (E-CPI) data for June. According to ENAG, inflation in June was 3.05 percent on a monthly basis. On an annual basis, inflation reached 68.68 percent.

According to ENAG data, inflation increased by 3.66 percent in May, and the last 12-month inflation rate was recorded as 71.23 percent. Thus, a limited decline in annual inflation was observed in June.

Inflation is Lower According to ITO Data

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) also published inflation data for June. According to the figures announced by the ITO, retail prices in Istanbul increased by 1.77 percent in June compared to the previous month. This rate decreased compared to the 2.83 percent increase recorded in May.

On an annual basis, retail price increase in Istanbul was measured as 44.38 percent. This rate also indicated a decrease compared to the annual inflation of 46.57 percent recorded in the previous month, May.

While the differences between ENAG and İTO data are striking, discussions on inflation are expected to remain on the agenda in the coming days.
