Kartal Municipality supports forest fire interventions in Silivri

Kartal Municipality teams, which participated in the firefighting with 1 fully equipped search and rescue vehicle, 1 support vehicle, 15-ton water tanker and 10 expert personnel, undertook tasks such as cooling operations in the field, water supply to the fire line and ensuring area security. Working in coordination with the firefighting teams, the teams also played an active role in the fight to stop the fire line approaching residential areas. Kartal Municipality had also provided material and personnel support to the region in the forest fire that started in İzmir Seferihisar and spread to a large area in recent days. The teams are still actively working in the region within the scope of firefighting.

Kartal Mayor Gökhan Yüksel thanked his teammates who worked in the fires in Silivri and Seferihisar and made the following statements: "Being prepared for disasters is as important as acting quickly and effectively during intervention. The fires that are taking place burn our hearts as a country, and as Kartal Municipality, we continue to do our part in disasters both in our own region and across the country. We displayed the reflexes we showed and continue to show in Seferihisar, this time in Silivri. I would like to thank all my teammates who worked hard in the field. I hope we will encounter such disasters less; but we will continue to be ready wherever needed."
