According to the statement made by the Ministry, the post-control and secondary control inspections carried out to increase compliance with foreign trade and customs legislation continued effectively this year. During the inspections, both company transactions and declarations after the delivery of the goods were examined in detail.

Companies identified in line with risk profiles created through data analysis using new generation technologies were subsequently subjected to inspection by Trade Inspectors. In addition, secondary inspections were conducted on customs declarations and penal sanctions were imposed on taxpayers who made incomplete tax declarations.

According to the statement;

As a result of the post-control audits, an additional assessment and penalty decision of approximately 1.1 billion TL was taken, with an increase of 31 percent compared to the previous year, and as a result of the secondary control audits, an additional assessment and penalty decision of 4.8 billion TL was taken, with an increase of 244 percent compared to the previous year.

Thus, a total of 5.9 billion lira worth of financial transactions were made, an increase of 162 percent compared to the same period last year.

The ministry statement said, “Inspection efforts will continue with determination against irregularities that cause the state to lose revenue, disrupt the market balance in foreign trade and create unfair competition.”
