Striking words from a former YÖK member about İmamoğlu: His diploma is null and void

While the investigation into the fake university diploma of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu continues, former Higher Education Council (YÖK) member and administrative law expert Prof. Dr. Hasan Nuri Yaşar said that İmamoğlu's horizontal transfer from a private university in the TRNC to Istanbul University in 1990 is "null and void."
Yaşar noted the following in his post on the social media platform X: "According to the Council of Higher Education, the 'thing' İmamoğlu entered in Cyprus without an exam could not be considered a university even two years after the date of his horizontal transfer, let alone be considered equivalent, considering its current status. Therefore, in my opinion, this so-called underhanded transfer from the university is 'null and void' in terms of not being possible. On the other hand, even when it is considered a 'clear mistake' due to the 'negligence' of the administration, the result does not change. Procedures that are void, transactions based on the fraud of the relevant person, transactions made as a result of the clear mistake of the administration can always be reversed. When such decisions are revealed, they are not taken back discretionarily but compulsorily."
