US strikes boat off Venezuela, killing 6

US President Donald Trump, in a statement on social media, noted that the US military had struck another boat off the coast of Venezuela as part of the fight against drug traffickers, saying, "The Secretary of Defense ordered a deadly attack on a boat belonging to a designated terrorist group that was smuggling drugs off the coast of Venezuela."

Trump stated that intelligence sources confirmed the boat was smuggling drugs, had ties to terrorist groups involved in the illegal drug trade, and was on a route known to be used by drug traffickers. Trump said, "The attack took place in international waters, and all six men on board were killed. No US forces were harmed."
