Fire breaks out in a forest area in Silivri!

The fire, which started for an unknown reason in a dry grassland in the Çanta Balaban Neighborhood of Istanbul's Silivri district at around 15:00, spread to the forest in the area close to agricultural lands and residential areas.

The fire, which spread over a wide area due to the wind, is being fought by the Regional Directorate of Forestry, AFAD and fire brigade teams. Work continues with 2 firefighting planes, 7 water trucks, 21 vehicles and 74 personnel.

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül came to the area and received information about the fire.

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) issued yellow and orange code warnings for 18 provinces.

MGM issued an orange code warning for Giresun and Ordu due to the heavy rain and wind expected on Friday, July 4; and a yellow code warning for Adana, Adıyaman, Artvin, Erzurum, Mersin, Kars, Kayseri, Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Niğde, Rize, Samsun, Sivas, Trabzon, Bayburt and Ardahan.
