Inflation statement from the Central Bank and Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek

TCMB published the "Sectoral Inflation Expectations" for February 2025.
Sectoral Inflation Expectations were obtained by compiling the 12-month annual consumer inflation expectations of finance and real sector experts, manufacturing industry companies and households through the Market Participants Survey, the Economic Tendency Survey and the Consumer Tendency Survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Accordingly, in February, annual inflation expectations for the next 12 months decreased by 0.1 points to 25.3 percent for market participants and by 1.9 points to 41.9 percent for the real sector, while they increased by 0.4 points to 59.2 percent for households.

The proportion of households expecting inflation to decrease in the next 12 months decreased by 2.5 points compared to the previous month, reaching 28.3 percent.
STATEMENT FROM MINISTER ŞİMŞEK Another statement on inflation came from Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek . Şimşek said in his statement on his social media account, "While market expectations are in line with our inflation target, we anticipate that the high real sector and household expectations will rapidly improve with the continuation of the decline in inflation."
