Russians' demand for foreign tours has increased!

According to the Association of Russian Tour Operators (ATOR), demand for holiday tours abroad increased from 10% to 40% in the last week.
ATOR Vice President and Space Travel General Manager Artur Muradyan stated that the strengthening of the ruble has a positive impact on the tourism sector, saying, “We see that the decline in the dollar and euro exchange rate is immediately reflected in sales in operators offering budget-friendly holiday options. On the other hand, in operators offering luxury tour packages, customers focus on the general economic situation rather than exchange rates.”
Muradyan stated that this effect is more evident in destinations such as Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand, while demand for Turkey is currently increasing more within the scope of Istanbul and cultural tours.
It is stated that due to the lack of official holidays in February and March, holiday plans are shifted to later dates, which extends reservation periods. ATOR officials predict that summer holiday sales will increase significantly if economic stability is maintained.
