Statement from Minister Şimşek on inflation expectations

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek made the following statement in his statement: "The inflation expectation of the real sector, which is important in pricing behavior, decreased by 1.9 points monthly for the next 12 months and by 14 points compared to May of last year, falling to 41.9 percent.
Household expectations, which are particularly affected by past inflation, increased slightly in February.
"WE PREDICT THAT THE DECLINE IN INFLATION WILL IMPROVE QUICKLY"
While market expectations are consistent with our inflation target, we anticipate that high real sector and household expectations will rapidly improve with the continuation of the decline in inflation."
